One Line Review: The glorious victory of team India, lifting up their very first world cup in cricket can’t be showed in a better way through a movie!
Introduction
1983 – What a year it was for India! When team India lifted their first world cup in cricket under the leadership of Kapil Dev, the whole country rejoiced unanimously. That day literally kicked off the glorious day of the cricket we enjoy now for India. When a movie is made to recreate those moments of victory, it should be flawless and Kabir Khan succeeded in it.
“The story of India’s first world cup victory makes for a thrilling watch.”

Summary
The movie is all about the journey of the Indian Cricket team towards their maiden victory in World Cup cricket.
Review
This movie can’t get any more perfect and the main reason is the casting. The casting director(s) of 83 deserve a pat on their backs. From Kapil Dev to every other person on the Indian cricket team, the casting looked perfect with uncanny resemblances. While Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev was scoring in his own perfect way, all the others too were scoring as much as Ranveer being in their shoes. A special cheer goes to Jiiva for portraying the onscreen Krishnamachari Srikanth. He was impeccable!
Another big plus point of 83 is the way it is executed by Kabir Khan. No unnecessary deviations, no speed-breakers anywhere, or unwanted songs. The movie strictly sticks to its plot and is all about the journey of the Indian cricket team, their iconic moments, and the historical win with a glimpse of how the nation received everything during that era. With a few surprise elements here and there, the movie totally brings you a cheerful mood inside a cricket stadium.
Conclusion
With impeccable performances and neat execution, 83 is a must-watch!
