Story
Kashipur wale baba (Bobby Deol) has a massive following and is known for his preachings. Although, unlike his miserable and desperate followers, Baba is living his life king size. He is living in giant mansions and luxury SUVs.
But some truth seekers find a loophole in the baba’s armor when they dig out skeletons of missing girls from farms of Baba. Then the whole political drama and misuse of power begins.
The story resembles a lot with the real story of Dera Sacha Sauda’s ungodly godman Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
Performances
Acting is mind-bogglingly good. You’ll find yourself falling with baba’s magic word when you’ll see Bobby Deol acting in this series.
Screenplay and writing are making this super series even more dramatic and bring it close to reality. Story writers did a fantastic job to keep you stick like a glue with the story.
Some key aspects from the series
The whole series talks about the blind faith in our society. People believe without questioning the reality and that’s what you’ll discover in a fashioned manner in this series. Along with entertainment, this series is a good way to scoop out the social taboos. You’ll have the feeling when you’ll see the scene where baba is being questioned for his illegal deals and he answers the objection laid on him by saying “Main Updesh nahi, Sandesh deta hu, Shanti Ka” and the whole crowd starts to cheer up.
Another thing it brings to the table is the caste system. You know there are still places in India where you are not allowed to do certain things if you belong to a lower cast. The series starts with the story of a Dalit wrestler girl who is being discriminated against other opponents who belongs to upper caste.
Final Words
It’s a personal opinion but you’ll also agree with me once you get your hands on the series that Bobby Deol is more suitable for dark roles. Just like Kashipur Wale Baba Ji.
The first season ends with gut-wrenching suspense and will make you beg for the immediate release of the second season.
