The second season of Blood and Water is now available on Netflix. Ama Qamata, Khosi Ngema, Thabang Molaba, Dillon Windvogel, Arno Greeff, Greteli Fincham, Cindy Mahlangu, and Xolile Tshabalala appear in the series, which is directed by Arno Greeff. The most recent season consists of six episodes that last 45-50 minutes each.
Plot summary and Analysis

Puleng (Ama Qamata) revealed to Fikile (Khosi Ngema) that they are sisters at the conclusion of the first season. Fikile was not pleased with the revelation, and he obtained a protection order against Puleng as a result. Season 2 of Blood and Water picks up right where the first season left off. Fikile may appear to be in denial, but she is actually beginning to have doubts about her life and her parents, and she is actively seeking the truth.
Fikile is dealing with an identity crisis and discovering unexpected truths from the first episode to the second-to-last episode, and her love life is also making no progress. Puleng is also subjected to a great deal of drama. Her equation with Wade does not appear to be hopeful; she is putting her relationship with KB at risk in order to uncover some major secrets while also dealing with her feelings towards Fikile.
Intro of New characters and story
Aside from Puleng and Fikile, the most recent season has brought a number of other characters to the forefront. Fikile seeks therapy, but her therapist is hiding some troubling secrets from her. Someone is slyly selling drugs at the school, and the administration is fed up with the difficult time students are giving them.
I’m glad the most recent season only has six episodes because adding more would make it stale and uninteresting. While there were some interesting twists, the cliffhanger ending was a turnoff. What lengths will they go to in order to make the story about two teenage girls seem more realistic? Despite the fact that some may find the ending surprising, I wish the series’ creators had brought it to a close.
The conceptual standstill
This goes hand in hand with a constant back and forth with regard to the subject of the alleged identity of Fikile. That you want to leave the audience in the dark for as long as possible in order to be able to maintain the tension is of course understandable and legitimate. It doesn’t have to be that the story practically doesn’t move at all because it is either ignored or the characters behave particularly awkwardly again. Blood & Water just doesn’t manage to balance the pace, wallowing at times in the uneventfulness, only to then want to continue in a completely exaggerated manner.
Blood and Water Season 2 Review: Final Thoughts on the Show
Overall, the most recent season is passable. There are some scenes in which the characters are depicted in traditional clothing, which I found appealing. When it comes to storytelling, it can hold your attention at times but can also appear silly at other times. When it comes to teen television shows, the inclusion of a drug plot is overdone. The most recent season provides answers to some major questions, but it also raises a few new ones that will be addressed in the following season.
