Review
To all the Bollywood guys out there who are responsible for the happening of films: Stop it guys! This remake thing isn’t cool anymore. First Judwaa now Coolie no. 1. If you’re gonna remake something, at least make it better than the original.
The trailer motivated me to stop watching the films and study (probably that’s why they’ve removed the like or dislike option).
4/10 from my side. And that’s being generous.
Plot/Storyline
So the plot is there’s a guy, Raju, who is a coolie but posing as a prince to marry a girl who’s father wants only but a good man and a bright future for his daughter. The father finds out the reality but the guy further adds to the lie that he has a twin brother. So the confusion goes on.
What’s to Like/Dislike?

Is there anything exciting about this story? Like really, even just one thing. No, right? I’m writing a personal review for this movie but I swear to god there isn’t anything to write about. My mind went blank. Maybe it’s because of the cast’s acting (Over-acting).
Varun Dhawan’s constant mimicry of Mithun throughout the whole movie was just gut-wrenching pain. Sara was plain. Period.
Comedy ??
Let’s talk about comedy. Comedy Kaha hai? They ran out of punchlines or what? There’s a lot, I mean a lot of nonveg and double meaning references used, which might have been OK if they were funny. Except they were cringy (Like really, How could “Ma Ka Ghosla” be funny?).
The only good thing that happened to this movie is Rajpal Yadav. Respect to that man, who survived under such an undertalented pandemic. Seriously, guys, Rajpal Yadav wasn’t joking around, he meant business.
Farewell Words
I’m attaching a condition here. If you’ve seen the original “Coolie No.1”, then don’t watch this one. There’s plenty of disappointment waiting for you. If you haven’t, then you can definitely add this to your watching list, as you’ve nothing to compare it to.
Wonder Woman 1984 is a better option, which I’ll be reveiwing soon.
