One Line Review: : It is a cold, thrilling, and eye-opening act of Anil Kapoor, Madhuri, and Rekha
Introduction
Welcome Back. Today is the release anniversary of βLajjaβ and weβve prepared a special report to rejoice in the greatness of the film. Lajja raised the voice of male chauvinism during the period of complete male dominance. Hereβs our take on it…
Plot Summary
Lajja is the story of Vaidehi whoβs husband is abusive and rube. She is pregnant but doesnβt want her child to see the torture sheβs experiencing. So, she decides to escape from the toxic marriage with the help of four other brave women who decided to raise their voices against abusive males.
Cold, Thrilling, and Eyeopening
This must be a classic of Hindi movies. Both technically and acting are done very well, choosing top female actors is one of the reasons why I like this movie. But most importantly, he did a great job in solving a serious problem, and he also created a powerful work of art that shines. It was cold from the beginning, Ram Durai’s screams and the saree floating in the wind.
This nightmare clearly shows that this will not be very interesting. The most disturbing events are filmed in terrifying detail, but this is not a simple documentary-like “Queen of Thieves”, but a more refined film like an ordinary person. So even for a more sensitive audience, this message is very moving but just as bearable. Comedy and action convey the message well, but they never become an end in themselves. They always help to convey the message of humanity, empowerment, and hope. It’s amazing.
Female cast and the acting
Madhuri Dixit looks radiant and works well. She turned around and stepped into the position of a veteran in my book. This lady is a world-class performer and her work here requires top marks. I think she beat Mrityudand 10 times in this movie because what she did in Lajja put her on the list of the greatest actresses of all time. After Madhuri’s performance gets a high score, do you think there is no room for perfection? Right? Well, this place is what Rekha and Lajja have achieved. In my opinion, this is the immortal glory of Rekha and Umrao Jaan. Her work on Lajja is as good as the best performances by Bollywood or Hollywood legendary female artists. When she found out about her son’s relationship and a series of requests before she was raped and burned to death, her breakup was a word. Well, there is no word to describe her superlative, perfect, and outstanding. I’m not fair.
This must be seen to understand. Manisa and Mahima? They are all very good and have demonstrated their talents in the sequence. In the future, they will have more opportunities to show their greatness. They are definitely very talented. Anil Kapoor is funny and good, but any actor will fall out of favor in front of the big show. Unfortunately, this is what happened to Anil in Lajja. Anil Kapoor is a great actor taken for granted. He is very cool and will perform comedy clips calmly. The audience likes him, but he will not be the first person remembered in this movie. Lagaan is still the perfect movie this year.
Plot Summary
Atticus Finch prepares himself for a big day. He takes a case to defend a black man, Tom Robbins, who is accused of raping a white woman. Atticus believes that Tom is innocent and didnβt commit the crime he is charged with. While all this is s going on in the courtroom, the children at Atticusβ home spy on their weird neighbor.
Iconic Songs from the movie
Out of a long list of songs, Sajan Ke Ghar Jana Hain definitely wins the race. Although, this song is a completely different vibe as compared to the nature of the film it is an emotion of its own. The song is sung by Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigan.
The Lyrics are:
βMehndi lagaake aayi
Haai
Bindiya sajaake aayi
Oye hoye hoye hoye
Mehndi lagaake aayi
Bindiya sajaake aayi
Choodi khankaake aayi
Paayal chhankaake aayi
Ho ab geet milan ke gaana hai
Gaana hai gaana hai
Mujhe saajan ke ghar jaana hai
Mujhe saajan ke ghar jaana hai
Mujhe saajan ke ghar jaana hai
Mujhe saajan ke ghar jaana hai
Haan mujhe saajan ke ghar jaana hai
Mujhe saajan ke ghar jaana hai
Mujhe saajan ke ghar jaana haiβ
Conclusion
Lajja made me realize that you can question everything in this world be it religion or relationships. I love Manisha Koirala that how she bound the whole film into one and took it to a logical end with a great message. Recommend it to everyone please see!
