One Line Review: Nayak has a very tight and precise script with a binding story.
Introduction
Today is the release anniversary of the one-day CM movie โNayakโ. Seriously what up with the name Shivaji and the love for the development of the nation? Yes! Before Rajnikanth did it, Anil Kapoor already excelled in the relationship of Shivaji and Patriotism.
Iconic Dialogues from the movie
Tumhari tarah Mahatma Gandhi bahet gaye hote ghar mein … biwi biwi beta beta karte huye … toh tum aaj bhi kisi angrez ke ghar mein latrine saaf kar rahe hote
English:
If like you Mahatma Gandhi would had sat in the house doing wife wife son son … then even today you would have be cleaning a toilet in an Englishman’s house
Plot Summary
A news anchor gets challenged by a CM in an interview to handle the heat of politics for just one day. To which the new anchor agrees and becomes the โOne Day CMโ. He cleans the city with his cunning and skills. But what is waiting for him after that one day?
Tight and precise plot
What impressed me most about this movie was the rigidity of the script. The incident unfolded one after another. Don’t be too fast or too slow. It keeps you attached. The events are consistent. What you rarely see in Indian movies is that people refer to the events that happened at the beginning of the movie. Most of the time, the script is improvised on the set. In order to maintain continuity, the dialogue is abstract in nature so that different parts can be combined. To make a movie that contains cross-references to subtle events, you need to have a very reliable script.
Innovation and experimentation with songs, visual effects, and Heroism
The second cool thing about this movie is the visual effects experimentation. Although at some point I feel like they are just obsessed with special effects and don’t need them (they should only use special effects where they need them), honestly, I am very impressed with the efforts made to achieve quality standards. In the movie, many people are put off by singing and dancing, unrealistic fights, and some stupid extremism. Well, these songs don’t have much influence on the movie. They tried a very simple form of entertainment that would not be in vain for everyone. In terms of fights and “stupid extremism”, I think they are trying to maintain the style of HERO and really attract the attention of the public. This movie has some very innovative ideas, and it dares to be different, although most of this part must be attributed to its South Indian counterparts.
Songs from the movie
There are a ton of songs in the movie. Honestly, at a point it gets annoying. There are several songs in the movie when it starts to get a bit serious. The chanting BGM of Nayak is killer. The best song of the movie is โMujhe to Acha lagta haiโ by Hariharan.

Conclusion:
This is a good experience. Appreciate their professionalism and technical expertise. Thanks to Paresh Rawal and Anil Kapoor for their wonderful dialogue and wonderful acting. This is a thought-provoking movie, and I think this movie is like that. Thus its purpose was achieved.
