Tohar ko itna chahte hai, itna chahte hai, itna chahte hai, itna chahte hai, itna chahte hai … kitna chahte hai ka batayen … seena cheer ke dikhayen Bajrangbali jaisa?

Critic Reviews

β€œDirector and co-screenwriter Ketan Mehta brings the stranger-than-fiction true story of mountain man Dashrath Manjhi to the big screen with the aid of dollops of drama.”  Saibal Chatterjee

Plot Summary

Manjhi loves his wife, Faguniya, who is pregnant. The ladies of the village have to climb across a big mountain for drinking water. One day Faguniya went there and never returned. She dies by slipping down the ditch. Manjhi swears to cut that mountain in half and make a road out of it so that no one has to lose the love of their life.

Direction

Ketan Mehta did an excellent job of ensuring that the film does not immediately lose momentum. The flow of the story flows back and forth between his wife’s death and the years after her death.  The movie begins with the death of his touching wife due to a huge mountain.

The movie switches his appearance from an innocent boy to a young Hell into a recollection mode.  Some Scenes Steal the Thunder – The chemistry between Nawazuddin and Radhika, the faithful husband-heard old man’s transformation, and a well-executed climax scene. Standing out from the crowd, tribute to Ketan Mehta and the team (Shahzad Ahmad for the investigation and interaction and RajbaliAnjum for the screenplay). The script loses focus and the flashbacks are so confusing, but the hiccups are short-lived.

The compilation of Prati Kuchi Thalia is good. Art direction by Knitting Chandra Kant de Sai is phenomenal. The cinematography by RajeevJain is eye-catching. Me Wars Star Dean Siddy Key is great. He’s probably one of the few actors who dares to crawl deeply into any character. Definitely an award-winning performance from him. Radhika Apte is getting better and better. She expresses emotions. The rest of the star performers will faithfully carry out their roles.

However, The director has never lost the audience’s attention because of the high scores of the editing team. Some scenarios are completely unexpected in terms of conceptualization and perfect execution. Through various events encountered by Dashrath Manjhi and his wife, he portrayed the sociopolitical scene of Grauer in the 1950s and 1960s, showing the in-depth research carried out before the filming of this film. Some scenes are creepy (despite reality at the time) and you will feel embarrassed. Once, it reminded me of prisoners with similar auras

Cast

Except for Nawazuddin Siddiqui, there are no big stars in this movie. The Support actors like Late Ashraf Ul Haq, the up-and-coming Radhika Apte, and  Pankaj Triphath’s acting are among the most powerful sectors in the film. His hard work behind shaping the character is obvious, and the Bihari accent has never been taught.

The delivery of the dialogues is impeccable and very fair to the writer who wrote them. Some conversations are very deep and will make you continue to reflect. Particularly noteworthy is Radhika Apte. Through her recent performances in the short film “Every Day After That Day” and Ahalya, she has risen like a phoenix and raised Manjhi’s benchmark, complementing and complimenting Nawazuddin in her performance.

To Conclude, I’d It was a pretty good and clever move to cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Manjhi because no other actor could’ve justified the role better.
