Introduction

On this day The Usual Suspects got released. This is the film that made Kevin Spacey a superstar. The Usual Suspects throws a lot of twists at your face and its subtlety will make you watch it again and again.

Iconic dialogues from this movie

Todd Hockney: Hand me the keys, you fucking cocksucker.
Arresting Officer: #2, step forward.
McManus: Give me the fuckin’ keys, you fuckin’ cocksucka. Motherfucka, blahhhhhhh!!!!
Arresting Officer: Knock it off, get back. #3, step forward.
Fred Fenster: Give me the keys, ya cocksucka.
Arresting Officer: In English, please?
Fred Fenster: Excuse me?
Arresting Officer: In English.
Fred Fenster: Give me the fuckin’ keys, you cocksucka. What the fuck?

Roger “Verbal” Kint: You think you can catch Keyser Soze? You think a guy like that comes this close to getting caught, and sticks his head out? If he comes up for anything it’ll be to get rid of me. After that… my guess is you’ll never hear from him again.

Critic Reviews

β€œIf the pleasures of The Usual Suspects are the more superficial ones of ingenuity and style, those are abundantly available. The twists and turns of the plot are an awful lot of fun, while the ending is genuinely satisfying and surprising.” Jay Boyar

Plot Summary

Roger Kint is a con artist who plans to do a heist worth $3 million with his team of four talented players. But the heist turns out into an explosion and kills almost every hostage with only a few survivors left. This gets them into big trouble and with no way to escape.

Directors sharpening the creative edges

Directors Singer and Quarrie present a perfect master in film noir: the ominous atmosphere, the night scene ingrained in the mind, and the deep psychology of certain characters who add more content to the film. Considering the last point, Gabriel Byrne’s role is the most interesting: a corrupt former policeman who seems to have redeemed himself in restoration but is trapped by his past and forced to return to work. Personally, I think Byrne is one of the top cast members that this movie is proud of. But don’t ignore other members. Kevin Spacey won the well-deserved Oscar in 1996, and the other actors did not stay on the bench. Perhaps Singh paid a little cursory attention to the other three bad guys in the gang, but to some extent,

it is necessary to emphasize the fact that they are bad hooligans involved in the whirlpool of hell and cannot perceive the truth behind all of this. Pete Postlewaite and Chazz Palminteri also make their scenes important. Gabriel Byrne is good, but not perfect because the tortured Dean Keaton finds himself in a dilemma between his criminal career and the tragic attempt to go straight, but the relationship between him and uptown lawyer Yi Di Fennelan (Suzi Amis) it was seriously explored. and I never felt it provided enough motivation for his behavior throughout the movie. Kevin Spacey was a very well-crippled Kint “Verbal” Roger, and he dealt with cunning and tragic results effectively. However, the real star of this movie is a strange accent, Pete Postlethwaite, who plays Kobayashi and is said to be Kaiser Sauze’s, right-hand man. He effortlessly played a terribly calm and efficient poker-faced role, leading the dance that other characters must follow.

The more you watch it, the mysterious it gets

The best and most talented part of this movie is the subtlety. When you see the end, and the truth weighs heavily on your head, you may want to look at it again. On the second pass, whenever you find the track that was lost the first time, you will jump and point to the screen. You can even watch the movie multiple times and see something new each time you watch it. It’s this attention to detail that makes the seemingly innocent ordinary suspect one of the best movies of all time.
