One Line Review: A romantic and dramatic masterpiece went unnoticed!
Introduction
If you love bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger, Gully boy, Race 3, or Bhat factory production, you should skip this movie. This is not an impulsive kind of film. You need patience, a love for thrillers, and a Bollywood dopamine detox to get the most out of this movie.
Our review for Lootera is 8/10.
Trivia
In a scene where Ranveer has to act like he is in pain, he hurt himself to convey pure and deep emotions.

Writing and execution
This film is a great example of how writing should be. A short story, fallen leaf originally inspire the movie. With the given quality of writers in Bollywood, the story could have been a disaster. But it turns out quite the opposite. What Vikramaditya Motwane did was a show of craft ISM and skills. Story and its execution go hand to hand. If one of them is missing, then the movie is a disaster. Here is in this film, both the elements are taken care of. Motwani presented the story, and the cast and direction injected life into it.
I’ve seen some critics complaining about the slowness of the story. I think the slowness is what kept this movie alive. This isn’t one of those movies which start with a boy staring at a girl in a nightclub, and next thing you know, he is serving her breakfast, then she starts to tell him about her miserable life. The boy promises to run away with her to create a new life, and everybody in the world stands against their love. Do you see? Everything is moving so fast, and a ridiculous amount of crab is being thrown at our face. Lootera is what happens in real life. Everything more in a natural place. Love arises from within, and it takes time and respect for each other. From what I felt after watching the film former, it is an act of class and craftiness.
The acting through silence
Silence plays a lead role in this movie. It is very rare nowadays, but it looks beautiful. You know that I have done it if you understand what is going on without any dialogue or action. This also shows us the level of connectivity with the character and story. This does not come automatically. It has to be placed with perfection. This movie has it.
The cost is seen playing a very different role as compared to their previous films. Sonakshi Sinha is seen playing very loud, enthusiastic, big mouth, and kind of dumb characters. But in this movie, she is playing a girl who is very calm and composed. Usually, she reserves her nature and not opens to anyone. Ranveer plays a very mysterious guy and has a lot of secrets, which is contrary to his roles in Ramleela and Band Baja baraat. Very good show of acting.
Conclusion
This movie is a romantic masterpiece. No surprise to me that it goes unnoticed. In the world of crapy action movies and people suffering from shiny object syndrome, it is quite common to miss these kinds of movies. If you get a chance, then please see this movie. It is a phenomenal piece of art.
