Summary
Mimi is a girl who aspires to become an actress and dances on shows to make money for the same. Bhanu Pratap is a driver who comes across a foreign couple who is looking for an Indian surrogate mother. Bhanuprathap makes the couple meet Mimi and convinces Mimi to be a surrogate mother in return for money. Things go bizarre after a while and Mimi should handle all the complications regarding her pregnancy along with Bhanupratap being a good friend by her side.
Performances
Kriti Sanon alone carries the movie forward till the end with her stellar performance being Mimi. With actors like Pankaj Tripathi who easily pulls off any kind of role given and more, she surpassed all the cast to take the whole thing on her shoulders. Without a doubt, Mimi is Kriti’s career-best so far!
It was a delight to watch Pankaj play Bhanupratap and his comic timing was excellent.
Review
The movie deals with a less discussed topic in India that is Surrogacy and the maker had successfully made the movie in such a way that you won’t feel bored at all. But again, after all these things, I happened to notice one major flaw in the movie. It is that whatever is shown in Mimi is everything that is practically impossible. If I got into the details, it may spoil the plot. I wish the makers actually dug a bit about surrogacy before making a movie regarding the same.
Music
Right after the release of the trailer, what brought the movie a lot of attention was this one song – ‘Paramsundari’. Shreya Ghoshal’s magical voice, A. R. Rahman’s musical touch, and Kriti’s groovy moves made this a favorite track for many people. Unlike cliche Bollywood item songs, Paramsundari stood out for its melodious touch with a unique style.
