On Amazon Prime Video, you can watch Rathnan Prapancha, a Kannada family drama that is currently in its third season. The film is directed by Rohit Padaki, and it stars Dhananjay, Reba, and other notable actors. Monica John, Umashree, Ravishankar, Anu Prabhakar, Pramod, Vainidhi Jagadeesh, Achyuth Kumar, and Shruthi Krishna are among the actors who have appeared in the film. The film has a running time of 147 minutes and is subtitled in English for those who do not speak Kannada.
Plot Summary
“Rathnan Prapancha is a Travel Dramedy that tells the story of Ratnakara, an average middle-class guy in his late twenties,” according to the synopsis. At the opposite end of the spectrum from his peers, who have settled down and are exploring other options in their lives, he is stuck in a house with an unwanted companion; his mother, Saroja. “Just when Ratnakar thinks things can’t get any worse, he receives a phone call that completely turns his world upside down.”
Story of Ratnakar
Rathnan Prapancha is a drama centered on the life of Ratnakar, an insurance agent played by actor Dhananjay. Ratna rarely smiles, and he is frequently frustrated and unable to control his emotions, primarily as a result of his mother, Saroja (played by Umashree). The annoyance of Ratna does not bother Saroja, who is a fun, loving, and caring mother who is unconcerned about it. His love, attention, and interference are all for the best, but he considers her love, attention, and interference “too much.”
Ratna receives a phone call from a journalist named Mayuri one day (played by Reba Monica John). Ratna’s life is forever altered by a phone call, and he begins to question his very existence and reality up to that point. Ratna and Mayuri embark on a journey to various locations in search of the truth that will forever alter the former’s life.
Starting the drama
In the first 15 minutes of the film, director Rohit Padaki gives us a glimpse into the relationship and life of Ratna and Saroja. As a result, the phone call has a lasting impression on you, and you are intrigued to find out what Ratna will do after learning the life-changing revelations. On his journey, he steps out of his mother’s shadow to discover himself and his life, while also altering the realities of two other people he meets along the way.
Rathnan Prapancha, an Amazon Prime Original series, maintains a lighthearted and emotional tone throughout. When I watch the scenes between Ratna and Saroja, I find myself in splits. The story is highlighted by the performance of actor Dhananjay, who conveys his feelings of confusion, anger, sadness, and pain. The development of his character from the beginning of the story to the end is remarkable. Saroja is played by actress Umashree, who is hilarious in every scene she appears in. The supporting cast is given a great deal of attention in the narration, and each actor does an excellent job in his or her role.
Especially when the story shifts to Kashmir, the cinematography of Rathnan Prapancha, directed by Shreesha Kuduvalli, is outstanding. Although our characters are experiencing emotional rollercoaster rides, our snow-cold background is unaffected by their experiences. B. Ajaneesh Loknath has composed some upbeat songs that will stay in your head for a long time after listening to them.
Conclusion
As a whole, the latest Kannada release available on Amazon Prime is well worth your attention. The family drama brings tears to your eyes, while the satire makes you laugh and keeps you entertained. That said, it’s a solid story that’s well-directed, with excellent acting and a strong sense of morality at its core. It’s worth watching with your family if you want to elicit pleasant emotions and laughter from the experience.
