Today we’ll be talking about a movie which at first I thought wouldn’t be funny at all but ended up having a great time watching it. A movie that has a record to offend not only people but a whole bunch of countries at once.

What’s it About?

“The Dictator” is the story of the Republic of Wadiya Dictator, Admiral General Aladeen. The role of the dictator is brilliantly played by Sacha Boren Kohen. This movie shows the point of view of a dictator towards other religions, human rights, democracy, and you know, women. I’m giving this movie a rating of Aladeen out of Aladeen (You’ll know what I mean, keep reading).

Plot/Story

Admiral General Aladeen is a dictator who considers himself a father figure for his nation.

The whole world including The United Nation is against him and want him to surrender.

His own family member, uncle Tameer, prepares a plan to take him to America and have him executed there.  He hires an assassin for this job. The assassin shaves Aladeen’s iconic beard and when he tries to kill him Aladeen manages to escape.

Later it comes to Aladeen’s knowledge that uncle Tameer is going to sign a constitution for his nation, Wadiya, and he has Aladeen’s double doing it for him. So, Aladeen, along with his friend in the United States tries to stop uncle Tamir which comes with hilarious accidents that will leave you laughing out loud.

What’s to Like/Dislike?

Humor ??

This movie is full of dark jokes and punchlines which one might find offensive but if you look at it as just a piece of humor I personally guarantee you that you will have a great time. Also, this movie shows the point of view of a dictator towards human rights, feminism, and all the other things that a Democratic country has, like a voting system.

There is a scene where the dictator changes 25 words from the Wadiyan Dictionary to Aladeen, including the word positive and negative. this leaves the whole nation in immense confusion. A patient goes to a doctor for his HIV reports and the doctor tells him that he is HIV  Aladeen.

I know this doesn’t sound like fun at all while you’re reading, but trust me you’ll have a completely different experience when you watch this on screen.

Verdict ??

My first impression when I saw this movie was what the heck! I was literally like how can somebody show these things in a movie, but when I followed along with the plot not only I liked the movie, I ended up desperately waiting for “The Dictator 2”.

So in order to conclude this review, I would say that go please watch this movie. This is my personal recommendation for you guys. I’m telling you, this movie is a cure to depression.
