Review

It’s not the fault of the elixir if you drain it down the hole. This film could have been made better or at least could’ve prevented its viewers to go to chronic sleep. I’m talking about Torbaaz. Like literally, they can through random stuff under the stardom of elite Bollywood actors and think people will enjoy it. Duh?

Here’s what I personally identified with:

“Sanjay Dutt-Starrer Torbaaz’ is so poorly structured and scripted that one can fall off to sleep”

~ Gautaman Bhaskaran, News 18

Plot/StoryLine

Naseer is an ex-army doctor who wants to train the refugee children of afghan camps to form a cricket team. But a terrorist organization head wants them to be used as suicide bombers. So, Naseer and terrorists fight with each other on all basis to achieve their motive.

That’s it. That’s the whole story. Surprised?

What’s to Dislike?

Characters ??

Okay. Everything set aside, what is Nargis Fakhri doing in this movie? I swear to god, you won’t hear a single line from her in the entire trailer. This is on another level. She was supposed to be a female lead but ended up playing a side character. I don’t know why.

Story ??

Rest is the story or should I say rest in peace story. What is it? Children’s comic story? There’s nothing so special or thrilling about the story. It was a simple Villian vs Hero plot where the hero is absolutely immune to bullets, bombs, tanks, missiles, and Nuclear weapons. He can defeat anything. And the film is full of old school cliches and monologues.

Farewell Words

For the first time ever, I’m saying don’t watch it. Watch some other things on Netflix. If not, go watch Doordarshan TV, it’s still better.

Or if you find it hard to sleep, then I have got a perfect cure for your insomnia, Tadaaa!; Torbaaz.

Okay, kidding aside, Bollywood really needs to think outside pseudo patriotism, Army, or social stuff (at least for once in a while).
