I Am Mother
Short Review: Am gonna out of my way to say, anyone giving bad reviews to this Gem of a Movie hasn’t understood it. Very Nolanisque! 🙂
If I give any further explanation, this won’t be a spoiler-free review anymore.

Sets and S/VFX: Perfect.
Writing: Brilliant!
Score: Spot On.

Let us know if you can decide who the antagonist is 🙂
In The Shadow of The Moon
Short Review: Refreshing to find a mystery-thriller in the sci-fi genre. “In the Shadow of the Moon” manages to take multiple genres and mashes them together to make it an enjoyable experience. One Time Watch.
“In the Shadow of The Moon” attempts high concept storytelling and for the better part of the movie, it works! Yes, you can find flaws, and yes it’s no Star Trek, but if you can go with the film, you’ll enjoy the twists and turns.
Spectral
Special Ops Team: Check.
Supernatural Beings: Check.
Nice Special Effects: Check.
Interesting Plot: Check.
Decent Acting: Check.
Is Everything Plausible or Scientifically backed up: NOPE.
Short Review: Lot’s of eye-candy – like a video game. Movie, when made, had a decent $70 million budget so – production design, stunt-work, locations, visual FX, score, and camera work don’t disappoint.
“Spectral” is the kind of movie where you just lean back in the chair and enjoy if only for all the pretty images on screen. A good choice for a lazy evening.
IO Last on Earth
Release Date: 18 January 2019
Short Review: Not your average action / superhero sci-fi. A little slow yes, but bad – no way!
Small budget movie, three actors but it’s thoughtful, sure there are no spectacles or action, nor fancy battleships, however, it’s not about any of that, it’s about holding on to hope and what life represents.
Super 8
Release Date: 10th June 2011
Short Review: The poster above is enough to raise expectations beyond reasonable.
Written and Directed by J.J. Abrams.
Produced by Steven Spielberg.
The same movie directed and produced by someone else would have been received much better. Being associated with Spielberg and belonging to the sci-fi genre it’s easy to draw a comparison with E.T and other early Spielberg movies. Not fair. Those were different times and the audience and expectations have evolved from there.
BTW, if it reminds you of Stranger Things, remember this movie came 5 years before it.
