What’s it About?
Set During the cold war, Diana/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) faces media tycoon Maxwell Lord (Lord Pascal) and her arch-nemesis Barbara Minerva AKA Cheetah (Kristen Wiig).
What can we Expect?
A sequel to Wonder Woman (2017) and a part of DC extended universe. Wonder Woman was the first superhero movie starring a female lead with the female director Patty Jenkins.
The first part gave us the origin of Diana, where her curiosity leads her to the outside world which was forbidden for her. Wonder Woman was a really interesting movie and it has set the bar quite high for its sequel.
We can expect more action sequences with some spectacular special effects. As the new characters are being introduced in this movie, it would be interesting to what Patty Jenkins does with them and bring us on screen.
Barbara Minerva / Cheetah
According to DC Comics, Barbara Minerva is an Amazonian in the outside world and is a best friend of Diana. How she turns into Cheetah it would be interesting to watch on screen.
Whether Patty follows completely the comics or she brings something of her own only time would tell. We know that Cheetah’s desire for lasso which Wonder Woman has led her to hate her best friend.
Cheetah is going to be the main attraction of the movie. Fans would love to see how Wonder Woman takes on her arch-nemesis. We see a glimpse of it in the trailer and we are so hyped about it.
What we see in the trailer
If you are a comic book fan, this trailer should make you excited enough.
In the trailer we get to see two new characters, one is Wonder Woman’s arch-nemesis Cheetah. We see her for only a few seconds, but it makes you watch more of it.
The second one is Maxwell Lord, who is a media tycoon. The most interesting part of the trailer is Diana reuniting with Steve whom we thought dead in the previous part. It’d be interesting to how he survived.
The trailer is intriguing enough which shows us some fabulous action sequence, especially the one where we see Wonder Woman riding lightning with her lasso of truth.
My Views
My expectations are quite high. Despite some nice action sequences and new characters in the trailer, I’d be looking forward to the story Patty Jenkins brings for us.
As I am a comic book fan it’d like to see how Wonder Woman and Cheetah who are best friends turn foes.
