Introduction

Yashoda – a surrogate mother gets entangled in a scary labyrinth of crime and she should find a way out.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu brings grace to the role. But, the film’s grindhouse treatment negates the impact of Samantha’s performance which has a lot of conviction.

Summary

Yashoda, a girl chooses surrogacy for money to save her sister from a medical condition. She ends up in a secret location, a building that houses a lot of other surrogate mothers like Yashoda.

Yashoda and others in that facility are provided with an attractive lifestyle and are promised a lump sum after their delivery. Yashoda slowly feels something is wrong with the facility and goes around looking for her friend who gets into delivery pain and later vanishes. To her utter disbelief, Yashoda finds herself stuck in a gruesome crime team that targets ladies for unknown reasons.

As Yashoda tries to escape the facility and to save the other girls there, she finds out shocking facts about that place and people behind it.

Review

Yashoda was backed by a very unique concept and Samantha’s one-woman show. Unfortunately, the execution of the movie failed miserably from script to screenplay to dialogues.

Samantha was at her best as Yashoda and delivered a stellar performance. She looked adorable as well as deadly in the movie, being the powerhouse of the entire movie.

It was only Samantha who could save the movie to a certain extent. Otherwise, it would have been a terrible watch full of plot holes. Even though the team’s efforts were visible when it comes to story building and the art department, the lack of research and logic made Yashoda look laughable in many parts.

Conclusion

Yashoda is an avoidable crime thriller for moviegoers.
